Mic’d Up: The Power of Podcasting
Do you love to tune in to a good podcast? Do you find yourself only able to go on your morning walk if the latest episode of your favourite pod has dropped? Has the thought ever crossed your mind to pick up a mic yourself?
If you’ve had the inkling that podcasting might be for you or your business but don’t know where to begin, the community at She Creates has you covered. Would you like to understand advertising opportunities within the podcast realm? Or perhaps you’re just intrigued by the ins and outs.
Think of this as podcasting 101. We’re bringing together folks from all sides of the podcasting industry to discuss everything, panel style. From ideation to execution. Benefits, challenges, formats and formalities. Our speakers will explore the how and the why of podcast creation. From the creative process to down to equipment.
Let’s face it, podcasting is not just a hobby, it's a powerful marketing tool. As creative professionals, we have the opportunity to explore this format in unique and innovative ways. While podcasting is still in its early stages in Australia, it has already been embraced as the future of media, communications, and marketing worldwide. This workshop is not just about podcasting, it's about your personal growth and staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.

Meet our speakers!
Hannah Pendlebury - Host of Eat With The Podcast, Owner of Pendle to Paper
You’ll hopefully have shaken Hannah’s hand at one of our She Creates events before, and as our Chair of Communications you’ve certainly heard from her. But when she’s not whipping up press releases or talking tone of voice, you’ll find Hannah mic’d up to record her brand new creative project, Eat With The Podcast. After many years of dabbling in food journalism and blogging, at the end of 2023, she decided to flip the script on the format. Eat With The Podcast is for food lovers and people who love a laugh, as Hannah chews the fat with chefs and food personalities while out for a meal at their favourite locations. She’s an advocate for honest conversation, never shies away from a controversial topic, and doesn’t take anything too seriously. As our quasi-MC for the evening, Hannah will lead our panel through your burning questions, providing her insights and experience along the way.

In her spare time, Adelaide born-and-bred Katie is a mother of 2 young girls and a self-professed extrovert who loves networking and connecting with her local community, particularly She Creates!

Our charity partner for the event
As you would know, we’re passionate about community at She Creates. We’re giving our guests an easy opportunity to give back as we partner with DV Safe Phone. DV Safe Phone is a vital program that provides safe mobile phones to domestic violence and law enforcement agencies, offering a victim-survivor a lifeline to connect with loved ones and essential services, ultimately helping them break free from abusive situations and start anew. You’ll be able to bring along your unused (but usable) phones to our deposit box on the night, which we will then donate to the wonderful people at DV Safe Phone.
