She Creates is an initiative of the AADC. The club wanted to do more for the women within the industry, and as such ‘She Creates’ came to fruition in 2019.

The Club is committed and driven to inspire, connect and promote the Adelaide advertising and design industry through a series of events, initiatives and more.

Julia Palombo

Julia has a strong belief in the power of creativity to change minds and shift behaviours. With a Bachelor of Journalism & Professional Writing, and a Bachelor of Business under her belt, Julia brings both knowledge and passion to every project she touches. 

Currently a Senior Account Manager at Showpony Advertising, Julia is a clever communicator with an exceptional work ethic who takes pride and joy in briefing the creative team, executing concepts, and seeing projects through from start to finish. Having worked both client and agency side, Julia’s unique and valuable perspective is a great asset to the She Creates team.

 

Bri Hammond

Bri Hammond is a commercial photographer whose work displays authentic emotion and odd moments, usually expressed with poppy colours and graphic compositions. She loves championing the peculiarities of life and highlighting the idiosyncrasies of people and places. Originally a graphic designer, she began her career with a year-long residency at Fabrica, Benetton’s Creative Research Centre in Treviso, Italy. After spending 10 years honing her craft in Melbourne, Bri now lives in Adelaide and creates for a wide range of clients and publications across Australia with a unique visual approach. 

Bri has always been passionate about lifting up other women, and mentors those wanting advice in the competitive and cis-male dominated world of commercial photography. By joining up with She Creates, she hopes to help more women feel encouraged to push boundaries, seize opportunities, and make their mark in the industry.

Katie Spry

Katie Spry is the Founder and Creative Director of Studio Juno, a female-led branding and digital design studio based in Adelaide. With more than 25 years in the creative industry, she began her career in broadcast and motion design in Australia and Los Angeles before establishing her own studio.

Today, Katie partners with businesses across brand identity and digital design, creating thoughtful, strategic brands built to last. She values clarity and collaboration, and believes design should work just as hard commercially as it does creatively.

As a member of the She Creates committee, Katie is passionate about strengthening South Australia’s creative community and supporting women to step forward, share knowledge and lead with confidence.

 

Rachel Eckert

Rachel Eckert is an art director, dyslexic copywriter, content creator and all-round creative. But enough with the third person. Hi!

Over the years, I’ve freelanced with agencies like KWP, Showpony and even spent some time in production at VZLM. I’ve also worked in-house as a graphic designer and content creator across ecommerce and marketing. Writing it all down like this makes me realise I’ve been lucky enough to experience a lot and learn from some incredibly talented people along the way. These days, you’ll find me in the Creative Services team at the Department of Education. Yes, I crossed over to the government side. Plot twist, I know.

What’s shaped me most, though, is the women I’ve worked with. The mentors, collaborators and friends who backed me, championed me and helped me back myself. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. She Creates is my way of capturing and celebrating that girlhood, that support, and the magic that happens when women create together.

 

Sristi Kamboj

Sristi Kamboj is a marketing enthusiast with a genuine love for storytelling and building communities through digital media. She’s especially passionate about social media, not just as a platform, but as a powerful space where stories, ideas and voices can connect and create impact.

An avid reader, Sristi is constantly exploring new perspectives through books,  from marketing and business to fiction and personal growth. She believes the best communicators are curious ones, and she brings that curiosity into her work every day. Currently working as a Client Executive at News Corp Australia, she collaborates with major clients and media agencies to deliver strategic advertising solutions and integrated campaigns. 

She creates resonates deeply with her belief that growth is stronger when it’s shared. She is passionate about creating spaces where women feel supported, celebrated and encouraged to take up space, creatively and professionally. Through thoughtful messaging and meaningful storytelling, she’s excited to help amplify voices and contribute to a community built on collaboration, courage and creativity.

 

Ry Pahl

Ry’s career has been anything but ordinary. Having decided to take the scenic route via human resources, consulting and content marketing to eventually become an Account Manager at creative advertising agency SAUCE, Ry is no stranger to a little off-road, adventurous thinking. Her breadth of experience is paired with a Bachelor of Advanced Arts specialising in English and Media.

Ry brings with her to any occasion an undeniable (and sometimes uncontainable) passion for the arts. Paired with her killer networking skills and attention to detail, Ry is a little like a swiss army knife – razor-sharp and resourceful, and ready to help whenever you need her. 

Ry joined She Creates because she wants to live in a world where women feel empowered to raise their creative voices, without having to note they’re not done talking yet, actually.  She knows that the world is made a better place when women are provided a safe and inclusive community in which to connect and create; one that champions their achievements and empowers them to strive.
